When you start a new creative path, you never quite know where it will lead. For Anastasia Watson, it led to national recognition.
Anastasia joined our Career Changer course with a love of flowers and a dream of becoming a skilled florist. Through expert guidance, practical skills training and nurturing creativity, she didn’t just learn to create beautiful designs — she discovered her own artistic voice and the confidence to share it with the world.
That confidence bloomed into success when Anastasia entered the British Florist Association Hub meeting in Bristol in May. Competing as a newcomer with florists from across the region, she not only won her heat, but achieved marks high enough to be selected as one of just six florists nationwide to compete in the prestigious Florist of the Year Newcomer finals at Fleurex this October. Her journey is a powerful reminder that with the right support, passion can become profession — and artistry can open doors you never imagined. We send her huge congratulation's and look forward to supporting her through the next part of her journey.
If you’ve been thinking about a new direction, our limited summer incentive makes now the perfect time to begin. Whether you dream of designing weddings, opening your own studio, or entering competitions, your floral journey could start right here.

A Memorable Evening at Moreton Morrell College:
Second Place in the Biedermeier Posy Competition for Tina Parkes
Last month, I had the absolute pleasure of competing at Moreton Morrell College in the Tutors’ Competition, where we were challenged to create a fully wired Biedermeier posy. I’m thrilled to share that I was awarded second place on the night.
The competition was not only a great opportunity to test my technical skills and creativity, but also to connect with fellow florists who share the same passion for craftsmanship and design. The Biedermeier style, with its precise concentric circles and careful wiring, is both a test of patience and an expression of floral elegance — so it was a true joy to work on this piece.
What made the evening even more special was the chance to see an inspiring demonstration by Nicolaus Peters, the renowned German florist who won the Floristry World Cup in Manchester last autumn. Watching Nicolaus work was incredibly motivating; his design approach, skill and vision reminded everyone why floral design is both an art and a craft.
Events like these are such a wonderful reminder of the richness of the floristry community — from the quiet moments of concentration as we create, to the energy and excitement of sharing ideas and celebrating each other’s successes.
I’m already looking forward to the next opportunity to step onto the competition floor, keep learning and keep growing — and hopefully bring back even more inspiration to share with my students and fellow florists.
Thank you to everyone involved for a truly memorable evening.
