Didier Gilles French Master Florist and International Teacher

Following the success of the workshop we hosted last year with the French Master Florist, Didier Gilles, we are thrilled to welcome Didier back in May for another two days of inspiration and educational workshops , when he plans to take us on a floral journey of discovery.

Inspired by nature, design, colour, the arts, culture and technique, Didier’s work is intuitive, unique, new and truly original. As last year’s students will testify, Didier is truly passionate about sharing his knowledge and expertise as both a brilliant floral designer and a successful commercial florist.

The dates are:

Day One:  Thursday 10th May – ‘European Inspirations’ bridal bouquets
Day Two:  Friday 11th May – ‘Architectural Inspirations’ exploring lightness and transparency

You can choose one or two days and the cost for each day will be £180 (includes Vat), we are also offering a flower and sundry package for an additional £50.00 per day ( please select on scroll down below) or we can provide you with a list of the items you will need to bring along with you.

Tea and coffee will be available, and there is plenty of free parking.

More about the designer

We had the great pleasure of spending three inspirational days amongst welcoming, talented French florists in beautiful Montpelier a couple of years ago, which opened our eyes to the wonders of French floral design. Florists are very highly regarded in France as professional artisans and their instruction in the fundamental principles of design starts so early that they become second nature.

Didier Gilles began his career as a self-taught floral designer, in 1995 he bought his shop in Remoulins, South of France, and then began to study. In 2001 he achieved his French Floristry Master qualification and went on to participate in various competitions and was a finalist in the prestigious French Cup in 2005.

A talented linguist, Didier proved to be an excellent translator and assistant for visiting Masters such as Gregor Lersch, Tor Gundersen and Yuko Takagi and became a teacher/trainer for the Floriform school in 2006. He has taught and demonstrated in countries all over the world including Costa Rica, Norway, Spain, Mexico, Ecuador, Italy, Germany and Pakistan. He now teaches the French Masters qualification in Nîmes and on Guadeloupe Island.
